A funny little moment that I put together from X-Games Munich. Martin Söderström is ALIVE!
Oracle Team USA just won the 34th America’s cup and man was it a banger. People are calling their victory one of the greatest comebacks in sporting history. I feel privileged to have worked very closely with the team on this edit. These boats are truly a spectacle. Definitely a game changer and a once in a lifetime experience to see these boats from a few feet away.
Check out this GoPro course preview I shot and edited at the Portland Street League event. Koston and Malto were both rad and super easy to work with. Shot this thing in about 40 minutes…check it out.
Last three months: Vol 1
I suppose I could throw down some photos from the last three months. I traveled straight from Hawaii to a snowy Colorado for the second time this year. I worked the US Open of Snowboarding and then went straight to Crested Butte to work the last stop of the Burton Mountain Festival. I got to enjoy some time in San Diego before I hit the road again to shoot Super cross and the East Coast, Oakley Surf Shop Challenge. More photos to come in Volume 2.
About a week after the Bombsquad shoot I packed two bags as I would be journeying back to the North Shore of Oahu, immediately followed by a trip to Colorado. Hawaii was a windy, rainy, and very short 5 days. I went with two of my co-workers to help train the IBA Webcast crew on the GoPro work flow for webcasts. It was definitely different working with Bodyboarders but they were a great crew of people. There aren’t many pictures…we were slammed! Big Mahalo to Pete Hodgson for putting us up for a few days. Next stop Colorado.
February was a pretty wild month. After spending most of January laid up on the couch, nursing a broken elbow, work started up strong. My first day back on the job was a shoot with the GoPro Bombsquad. I was charged with shooting a hype piece to play on the jumbotron before the boys fly into the packed, San Diego Chargers Stadium. The photos you see are from the practice shoot the day before. I had never been in a helicopter before so I was pretty fired up to say the least. The first photo is a one that was used on GoPro’s Facebook and Instagram. You’ll have to go to a Supercross to see the edit!
My buddy (who I haven’t seen in some time) Ben McBrien is an unreal carpenter. I’ve been admiring his work for some time now and I really like the rustic but modern feel to his work. Super Sick. Check him out at www.farmhausfurniture.com
Fishtown welcome center. this was a new construction haus in my neighborhood having no real character to enhance, so i had to import it all the way from berks county. some grey barn boards juxtaposed against the white niche cabinetry and some pop colors for personality. bike racks. i put a bench just below the his and hers key nooks with an outlet to charge the phones. finally a custom library ladder to get to the ample bookshelves above. this was fun.
